Located in the downtown area of California’s capital, Sacramento, the Crest Theatre is one of the city’s last standing historic theaters. Though the site for the Crest Theatre has housed a theater type venue since 1912, the current building did not take form until 1949. In its earlier years, the Sacramento site was the hot spot for the latest in vaudeville acts and movie showings. Today, the Crest Theatre has become one of the city’s most historically rich and beautifully made venues.
Sacramento’s Crest Theatre has become synonymous with some of the area's best local film festivals, and is actually home to three; the Sacramento French Film Festival, the Sacramento Jewish Film Festival and the Sacramento Film and Music Festival.
What once was a vaudeville house and movie palace is now one of Sacramento’s most elegant venues for festivals, shows and events. The Crest Theatre schedule features a number of comedy shows, music concerts and film programs each year. Big names in entertainment like B.B. King and Bernie Mac have graced the Crest Theatre’s stage with their presence. The Crest Theatre schedule is also open for hosting various private events including receptions, weddings, conferences and corporate events.
